A lovely sunny Sunday afternoon was the perfect setting for the recent formal opening of our new nametile area in Canterbury's Westgate Park.
Situated in a lovely location on the bank of the river within the Park, we now have thirteen nametiles, each one remembering a very special baby, with a further six recently ordered. We were delighted that Rev Helen Connoll, former chaplain at Canterbury Hospital and someone who supported a great many families following baby loss, agreed to perform the official 'unveiling' and lovely to see so many families coming along.
We have permission to add two further boards to the wall and will soon need to add the second one. Thanks to Canterbury City Council which has been extremely supportive, and helped to make this idea become a reality. Looking ahead we are hoping we may be able to hold a small 'Wave of Light' during Baby Loss Awareness Week in October - watch this space!
If anyone else would like to order a nametile for Canterbury, or Ashford (in the Ashford Baby Memorial Garden), or Faversham (at the West Faversham Community Centre) , here is the link to the order form.
